The green granny flat was added behind this North Park 1920’s Craftsman Bungalow. The style and character of the granny flat is a perfect match of the existing Bungalow, but with one big exception. This building is completely green.

The framing of the two story granny flat is constructed entirely with recycled metal studs. Wood rafter tails are added to the roof framing so it appears to be a wood framed house. The building is topped with a solar array large enough to completely power both the front house and the granny flat.

With double hung wood windows and trim, the granny flat looks like it has always been there. The interiors include original Craftsman details like the red oak floors, high base boards, vintage door hardware, hexagonal tiles on the bathroom floor, and subway tile in the shower.
