Towne Bakery opened its doors in Del Mar Highlands making the classic 1940’s early American style cool again with vintage get-ups and pastel colors. The bakery’s 1,200 square-foot interior has an atmosphere of a truly retro bakery, highlighted by an open kitchen that offers tantalizing aromas and an interactive view allowing patrons to have the opportunity to witness the finishing touches up close and personal.
Towne Bakery is full of nostalgic elements including black-and-white hexagonal tile flooring, cornflower blue hand-painted subway tiles on the walls, pastel-colored product displays, painted bead board wood paneling and era-specific schoolhouse-style lighting fixtures suspended from above.
The bakery also has a retail component with stylish accessories such as nesting bowls, vintage-inspired cake plates, cupcake stands and a collection of conversation-starting aprons from the ‘40’s and ‘50’s.
